Activities

TRANSIT Pole has as a priority objective the elaboration and implementation of programs, projects and activities which, taking due account of the economic, engineering and legal aspects, develop significant impacts on a metropolitan, regional and macro-regional scale, considering the specific developments in the infrastructures and in the regional logistic nodes (ports, interports, airports), the interactions with the main road axes and with larger-scale networks, such as the European road and rail corridors and maritime routes.

In this sense, the general reference is to research and innovation in progress in the transport sector, as a significant example for rail transport, in line with the NationalCluster Trasporti Italia 2020), and European (Shift2Rail) programs aiming to innovative solutions to increase the capacity, safety and efficiency of freight and passenger transport, reducing both the environmental impact and the whole life cost.

I progetti complessivamente indirizzati nell’ambito del TRANSIT Pole, making use of a substantial “know-how” already available thanks to the results obtained on previous studies and projects or in the completion phase, will be addressed to the issues of sustainable mobility, safety of the transport,, intelligent maintenanceand in general to possible improvements in the management, development and intermodal control of traffic originating from goods and people.
